Island Star Records is an independent record label formed in 2003 by Connecticut music and show promoter, Shawn Kong. An avid music lover, Shawn decided to expand his involvement with music to include finding, promoting and showcasing talented individuals; giving them the opportunity to become the artist they are destined to be. The label has been growing over the years and since its inception, has had artists perform on major reggae stage shows in Jamaica, including Reggae Sunsplash, Rebel Salute and STING to name a few.  Mr. Kong and the Island Star Team are dedicated to promoting and representing the best in entertainment. It’s our goal to uplift all people through the power of great music.
